How to choose a speed sensor that is more suitable for you?

The speed sensor is a widely used alarm detection sensor. It senses the mechanical movement speed parameters (such as speed, frequency, acceleration, etc.) The control signal is amplified and output by an operational amplifier (such as lm358). If the sensor is used to detect impact force or acceleration, it usually uses a piezoelectric device, which generates a charge when the stress is increased, and some sensors can be detected by other materials and methods .Use the inertia of the mass block to establish coordinates in the inertial space, and measure the velocity and acceleration relative to the earth or inertial space. Through the energy exchange element, it converts the mechanical velocity into an electrical signal that is convenient for transmission, conversion, processing and storage.

1: What do you want to measure

What are you going to do with this data?

A speed sensor monitors speed and provides raw speed data, while a speed transmitter provides an RMS value. Analyzing raw speed data is useful because it contains information on all speed signals, the actual peak amplitude, and the speed frequency. Since the total value of RMS Or peak is a continuous 4-20 mA signal, so it is very useful in PLC, DCS, SCADA system and PI control system.

2: How big is the amplitude

The larger amplitude or range at which velocity is measured determines which sensor range to use. Typical velocity sensor sensitivities are 100 mV\/g for standard applications (50 g range) and 500 mV\/g for low frequency or low amplitude applications (10 g range). 4-20 mA transmitters for general industrial applications typically use 0-1 in\/s or 0-2 in\/s ranges.

3: Speed frequency

For different excitation frequencies, the response of the physical structure and dynamical system is different. The speed sensor is no exception. The characteristics of the piezoelectric material are similar to the high-pass filter. Therefore, even a good piezoelectric sensor has a low frequency limit of about 0.2hz .Choosing the frequency range available for the sensor is critical, including your frequency of interest.

4: Ambient temperature

For speed sensors and 4-20mA transmitters, extremely high ambient temperatures pose a threat to the internal electronics. The accelerometer in charging mode can be used at extremely high ambient temperatures. It uses a remote charge amplifier instead of built-in electronics .
